Privacy Policy

Version 2026-09-29

This policy explains which personal data we process, why, on what legal basis, who else receives it and how to exercise your rights, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible

Data controller: ⚠ [PENDIENTE DE COMPLETAR] · Tax ID: ⚠ [PENDIENTE DE COMPLETAR] · Address: ⚠ [PENDIENTE DE COMPLETAR] · Email: privacy@katanith.com

For any question about your data, write to privacy@katanith.com.

2. What data we process

  • Account: email, display name, password (stored as a hash; we never see it in plain text) and, if you sign in with Google, the email and name Google shares with us.
  • Content you record: trading accounts (name, broker, starting balance, currency), trades (asset, direction, risk, result, notes, emotion tags, checklist), strategies, settings and the screenshots you upload.
  • Support and contact: messages, tickets and attachments you send us.
  • Subscription: plan, status, dates and Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. Your card details are processed by Stripe; Katanith never receives or stores them.
  • Technical data: IP address and browser data in server logs, and short-lived IP counters used to stop abuse (deleted automatically within 24 hours).
  • Verification codes: the 6-digit sign-up code is stored as a hash and deleted once used or after 10 minutes.
  • Referral code, if you enter one when signing up.

3. Data we ask you NOT to enter

Katanith does not need health data, political opinions, religion or other special categories. Emotion notes and tags are free text you write: do not include sensitive data about third parties or anything you do not want stored. Do not enter bank account numbers, broker passwords or API keys.

6. Who else receives your data (processors)

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We work with providers acting on our behalf under data processing agreements:

7. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. When they do, it is under an adequacy decision (e.g. the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. Ask us for more information at privacy@katanith.com.

8. How long we keep data

  • Account and content: while your account exists. Deleting it from Settings → Danger Zone erases your data, files and user record and cancels the subscription.
  • Billing: payment and invoice records are kept for the periods required by tax and commercial law (up to 6 years), blocked and used only for legal obligations.
  • Support: for the duration of the case and, afterwards, until you delete your account.
  • Technical logs: only what is strictly necessary for security, for the period set by the hosting provider.
  • Backups: rotate at the provider, and deleted data disappears from them in the normal rotation cycle.

9. Your rights

You may at any time exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, and withdraw consent where we asked for it:

  • Portability and access: Settings → Data & Privacy → Export (JSON).
  • Rectification: edit your data in Settings → Profile and in each section.
  • Erasure: Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account.
  • For anything else, write to privacy@katanith.com stating your account email. We reply within one month.
  • If you believe we are not handling your data properly, you may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).

10. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, per-user access control at database level, private screenshot storage with temporary links, anti-abuse limits and anti-bot protection. No system is infallible: if a breach creates a risk for you we will notify you, and the supervisory authority where the law requires it.

11. Minors

Katanith is intended for people aged 18 or over. If we find that a minor has created an account, we will delete it.

12. Cookies and local storage

We only use strictly necessary technical storage. See the Cookie Policy.

If we change this policy materially we will update the version date (2026-09-29) and ask you to accept the new version when you next sign in.
